For me the difference between winning a team champ and a driver champ is, when team wins it's usually cuz they have been consistant and overall did good job but when driver wins champ they become legend, they made something miraculous, it feels different cuz it's always someone standing up to someone who was told better or the opposite narrative it's someone who has already name and again shows why has he earned it. We can look at it like this: Team wins and it's really creative and smart work well done, strategy, mechanics and engineers pulled their sleeves and got the job done, but when driver wins we have set the King of F1 for this year. He fought the battle, won, became majestic and ruled. Doesn't matter if it's first time or multiple times already.

So they can get one of the best engines (Honda will be forced as you said) instead of a weak one (their own) while at the same time not having to spend millions on engine development. I call that a genius move because Alpine have realised that the majority of people watching F1 are casual fans who will only look at the name on the car/name of the team and won't know what engine is inside. I bet the majority of viewers don't know what engines are in the McLarens, Aston Martins, Red Bull, Haas & Williams F1 cars. We know because we are dedicated fans, most viewers follow casualy only, just like I only watch football during the world cup and whilst I root for the national team I don't know the name of any of the players.

I see a reason the men in charge @ Alpine F1 wouldn't want to sell the team: that way they would lose their high paying jobs.

Pace: charles, lewis, max, nico. Tyre management: lewis, checo, max, albon. Lewis has proved almost every race his tyre management is far better
